Abolfazl Shakeri Chenari, a Freshman Student at the University of Tehran, Wins the Alborz Award

During the Alborz Scientific Award ceremony for the student category, held in mid-November 2025 at the Eram Garden Museum in Tehran, nine new students from the University of Tehran were among the awardees of this year's scientific competition and received the Alborz Award. They are:

Bahar Akbari, Combined Ph.D. student in Biotechnology , Mahdieh Esmaeili Aghda, B.A. student in Puppetry, Negar Amini , B.S. student in Industrial Design , Saba Izanloo, B.S. student in Industrial Design, Zahra Khoshghadami , B.A. student in Painting , Mohammadmehdi Hasanpour Liavali , B.A. student in Social Communication Sciences , Abolfazl Shakeri Chenari , B.A. student in Law, Saba Salehi , B.A. student in Law , Aref Nemati , B.A. student in Persian Language and Literature

The News Desk of the Vice-Presidency for Research and Technology at the University of Tehran will gradually conduct interviews with the aforementioned awardees. The first interview is as follows:

Abolfazl Shakeri Chenari, an undergraduate student in Law at the University of Tehran, successfully earned the Alborz Scientific Award. He believes that this recognition has created a great responsibility and given him renewed motivation to continue his research path.

Referring to the surprising nature of receiving the award, he stated that it was the result of his extensive academic records during his school years, including his success in Olympiads and the university entrance exam. In this regard, he commented:

"My research activities previously focused mainly on preparing for scientific Olympiads. Receiving this honor has given me a more professional perspective on organizing activities and documenting scientific achievements."

Academic Background and Honors

This selected student, who entered the University of Tehran with a regional rank of 35 in the Humanities field, had the following achievements on his resume prior to enrolling in the university:

*   Gold Medal in the National Geography Olympiad ( 2024)

*   Honorary Diploma in the International Geography Olympiad – Bangkok (2025)

*   First place in the Prayer Essay Competition of Bābol City ( 2023)

He emphasized that the Alborz Award was granted based on his high school achievements, noting that preserving commitment, determination, and perseverance were the main factors in overcoming challenges and achieving this success.

Future Outlook and Recommendations

Expressing delight in being part of the "new, attractive, and inspiring" academic environment of the University of Tehran, the Alborz Award winner stressed his resolve to focus more on specialized legal research during his university studies. He stated that his ultimate goal is to achieve greater successes and bring honor to Iran.

In a piece of advice to other freshman students, Shakeri Chenari said:

"Achieving great goals is possible for anyone who possesses a firm will and puts in the necessary effort."
