A Native Solution Developed by a Tech Entrepreneur Couple to Control Stress in the Poultry Industry Engineer

The Vice-Presidency for Research and Technology News Desk of the University of Tehran:
Fatemeh Abdipour, a PhD student in Poultry Nutrition at the University of Tehran and a selected student innovator at the Research and Technology Festival, together with her husband Dr. Behzad Sedighi, PhD in Poultry Nutrition and a graduate of the University of Tehran, have successfully designed and commercialized a product named “Stress Calm.” In an interview with them, the scientific and industrial aspects of this achievement are explained.
Scientific Mechanism and Competitive Advantage of the Product
The product developed by our team contains the most essential and effective nutrients, formulated precisely and tested at optimal levels. Through the synergistic effects of these nutrients, the product delivers superior performance in poultry. By acting on multiple physiological systems of the bird including the immune, nervous, and hormonal systems. this product plays a significant role in improving overall poultry performance.
The key point of differentiation of this product, particularly under stress conditions, its is multidimensional involvement in major metabolic pathways, resulting in higher efficacy compared with other plant-based products with similar claimed functions.
This product is suitable for use in all industrial poultry species, including broiler chickens, laying hens, turkeys, quails, and ostriches.
Experimental Results and Scientific Evidence
The product has undergone extensive field trials in poultry farms across various cities in Iran. In addition, a formal research project was conducted in collaboration with the University of Tehran and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, yielding favorable results from both practical and academic evaluations. According to the findings of these studies, supplementation with the anti-stress product “Stress Calm” led to a significant reduction in corticosterone levels, the primary stress hormone in birds.
The results also demonstrated improvements in performance indices of broiler chickens and a notable increase in economic profitability during the 42-day rearing period.

Research project on the Stress Calm product in broiler chickens under heat stress conditions, conducted at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Tehran.
Certifications, Licenses, and science and technology park Support This product holds
An official patent registration certificate from the Intellectual Property Office A Level 3 invention approval from the National Elites Foundation A manufacturing license from the Veterinary Organization of Iran Its Technology Readiness Level (TRL 8) has been officially approved by the University of Tehran Science and Technology Park. The Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran has provided office space, financial and business consulting services, and an active ecosystem for the development of innovative companies. According to the innovator, one of the park’s main strengths is the presence of dedicated and highly competent experts who have played an effective role in the progress of this business.
Product Economics and International Outlook
Our revenue model is based on direct sales to end consumers as well as the appointment of sales representatives.
Based on economic assessments, the use of this product through improved bird performance offers significant profitability for poultry producers.
By increasing production efficiency, reducing losses and mortality, and improving rearing quality, this product contributes to sustainable production and national food security. Within a five-year outlook, neighboring countries represent a suitable platform for international cooperation in the field of poultry feed additives, which is included in our future development plans.
Alignment of Education, Work, and Life: The Initial Motivation
Fortunately, throughout this journey, my husband and I together with the support of our families have established this business. As we share the same academic background, we have a strong mutual understanding of this field.
Establishing a balance between work, education, and personal life is challenging but achievable. We have repeatedly heard from our customers that their long-standing problems have been resolved through the use of this product. Our main motivation for entering this field was the realization that performance in Iran’s poultry industry is lower than global standards, with multiple stress factors being one of the primary causes. Therefore, we set out to develop a product that, by controlling stress, could increase production efficiency and profitability for poultry farmers.
