Milad Moein from the Vice-Presidency for Research and Technology News Desk of the University of Tehran:

Mohammad Mahdi Kaabi, a master’s student in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Tehran, has pursued a distinctive path in technology, from designing a health application at the height of the coronavirus crisis to developing computer games and artificial intelligence tools.

“Tawiyah”; a Technological Response to the Coronavirus Crisis

During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaabi designed and developed the “Tawiyah” application, meaning “awareness.” This software was developed with the aim of reducing the need for in-person visits during quarantine conditions, enabling Iraqi citizens to access real-time statistics on infections, prevention guidelines, and a registration system for donating or receiving blood plasma. The data for this platform was supplied by sources such as the World Health Organization and medical centers in Iraq.

Documenting Collective Memory; From Security Crisis to Database

Before “Tawiyah,” Kaabi had designed projects in the field of historical databases that collected and structured oral narratives from the period of Iraq’s security crises. With an approach focused on documenting lived experiences, these projects organized scattered data into a retrievable format.

Artificial Intelligence and the Game Industry; A New Specialization

During his studies at the University of Tehran, Kaabi has directed his specialization toward the development of computer games and the implementation of artificial intelligence algorithms. Mastery of modern tools in this field has enabled him to develop more complex software products compared with his undergraduate period.

From Baghdad to Tehran’s Robotics Laboratory

Kaabi’s academic path began in the field of Information Technology in Iraq and now continues at the master’s level in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Tehran. The experience of living in Baghdad during wartime and then facing the global pandemic has shaped his approach to technology.

The Next Step; Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Media

Kaabi, who is currently active in the Robotics Laboratory of the University of Tehran, announced in a university meeting his plan to develop an artificial intelligence-based system that will facilitate content production and workflow management processes for media professionals.
